Orlando RV Resort, a great Campground in Clermont Florida

Orlando RV Resort is another Thousand Trails membership Campground that everyone who might be planning on camping in Florida, should check out. It’s actually in Clermont Florida just ten miles north on US highway 27, off of I-4 at Exit-55.

Besides the many amenities, this campground has 867 campsites you can pick from. Almost all of the sites are back-in sites, but thy are all large and roomy. Numerous bath-houses that are kept in great condition two large pools, large jacuzzi, and more things for you and your family to do.

This campground is popular mostly because of its close proximity to Disney World and Universal Studios as well as the city of Orlando itself. In fact, at night, you can be outside and hear the nightly Disney fireworks show.

And, if you don’t like to go into the big cities, like Orlando, there are a number of interesting small towns within less than an hours drive from the campground that are worth visiting. Three of my favorites are; Lakeland, Mt. Dora, and Winter garden. Each of these towns have an old-town area with interesting shops, restaurants and pubs.

I have used this campground for over ten years now and my only real complaint has been the wait if you don’t get there early to check in.

Again, this is a TT membership campground but you can reserve a site through Encore (RVontheGO), if you’re not a member, because they always keep a certain number of sites for non-members.

I have already set up reservations for a couple of visits there this summer and my wife and I are really looking forward to our trips there.
